Edwardtide Pilgrimage
On Saturday, 14th October, seventeen members of Year 6 attended the National Pilgrimage at Westminster Abbey to celebrate the life of St Edward the Confessor. Having walked from Waterloo Station, the children arrived as ‘walking pilgrims’ and had their feet washed by a member of the clergy. They then attended a musical production on the life of St Edward, followed by a Eucharist Service, at which eight of the children read the intercessions. After lunch, the children took part in Shrine Prayers and made pilgrim badges before attending Choral Evensong. Many people commented on the children’s wonderful reading and the reverent way in which they took part in the Evensong procession carrying our school banner.

Harvest Gifts
Thank you to everyone who gave so generously to our Harvest Festival appeal. All the food was taken to the Romford Food Bank at St Edward’s Church last Friday. Some members of Year 6 gave up their time to sort and pack the food ready for the Food Bank.

Congratulations to the winners of the school’s Shining Star Certificate competition, organized by Mrs Price. The children received their prizes in school on Friday. Their designs will be used for the Upper School ‘Book of Shining Stars’ awards throughout the year.
The standard of the entries was very high and all the runners-up received certificates.
